Conventions of Music Adverts

Conventions of music Adverts

Music Adverts need:
  • To be clear
  • To show the artist and their name that takes ups most of the cover
  • Other artists from similar genres
  • The colour work needs to work with the genre
  •  To be simple
  • To have all the gossip
  • A catching name
  • Display lyrics

For example I have chosen the music  avert about Eminem but as you can see the media have promoted him well because it is an just  him so he has a big headline on the cover so a picture of him covers about 50% of the page. The advert itself is a very big so they produce lots of media so because this is an article about Eminem and rap it has also has other rappers mentioned on the cover as well.

Another example is a pop advert of Nicki Minaj who is  stereotypically know to be made up heavily with make up and where pink she is a  huge female artists mentioned as well as shown on the cover (Nicki Minaj). On  this advert it shows her with her text in pink displaying with her song starships in pink.So you can see that it is for women because it  is also more vibrant and links to the genre of pop  compared to a heavy metal band.

Finally the last example of music adverts is a rock band which is Nirvana where they had an unusual logo with the small child which shows disjuncture even with the logo. This advert shows the tour dates of when the band was going and performing on stage at festivals which shows they have a big line up. The use of disjuncture in their advertisement links to some rock bands because they come up with different logos to attract attention to it. for example with this picture of the naked child must of had a uproar with people disliking it but that is what the band probably wanted to increase the awareness of the band.
