History Of Music Videos

The change in music videos over the years

The first music video that I am going to analyses to see how music has changed over time is a song by The Beatles 'A hard days night' the reason this song is important is because they were the first band o successfully cut to the beat where they use editing effectively in their videos so this was a big thing for the music industry because this started the ball rolling in 1964.

The next  music that I am going to analyses is Bob Dylan - 'subterranean homesick blues' the reason that I have chose this music video is it because it was the first video that introduced flipping cards to display the lyrics of the song so the viewers can sing along or learn the lyrics so he was the first person that did this in 1965.

The next music is from the 1980's which was Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson with screen the reason that I have chose this is because of the money that was spend because through out the years more money was being spent on videos to increase the quality, so for this so it cost $10.7 million to produce this song so it shows people had more money to play with as the years went on.

Older videos now compared to the latest music has changes dramatically because of the availability of technology their is for companies and producers to use on their videos so the latest song that I have chose is 'Skrillex and Diplo - "Where Are Ü Now" with Justin Bieber' the reason that I have chose this is because it stands out as a new video because of the editing techniques used and the on screen visual display compared to older music videos where it will have little effects added to it.
